PEER-REVIEW
All materials received for publication from authors in Romania and abroad are subject to the peer-review procedure. The purpose of this procedure is to help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive comments and recommendations provided by reviewers who are specialists in the thematic field of the study.
The steps in the review and publication procedure are:
-
1
Submission of the manuscript
Authors send their manuscripts to the official address of the journal or to the institutional address of the Editor-in-Chief or the Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Within a maximum of 5 days, the journal’s editorial board checks whether the manuscript complies with the journal’s general formatting and writing guidelines, after which the author is informed that the material has been sent for review. If the material does not comply with the general formatting guidelines, the author will be advised to revise the manuscript and resubmit it according to the journal’s standards; otherwise, it will not be accepted for review or publication.
-
2
Assignment to reviewers
Depending on the manuscript’s subject, at the proposal of the Editor-in-Chief and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, the editorial secretary sends the material (without the author’s name) to two members of the journal’s scientific committee for review. Within 5 days they must confirm their intention to undertake the review. If the reviewers decline due to lack of expertise regarding the manuscript’s subject, the Editor-in-Chief and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, through the editorial office, will send the material (without the author’s name) to two other specialized collaborating reviewers of the journal, from the country or from abroad. Within 30 days from receiving the manuscript, the reviewers will complete the journal’s peer-review form (see HERE), assigning a score and inserting comments for each of the five items, and will send the evaluation result to the Editor-in-Chief. For the material to be published, it must receive at least 12 points from the reviewers evaluating it.
-
3
Editorial decision
The Editor-in-Chief and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief analyze the reviewers’ evaluation forms and, depending on the result of the assessment, the editorial secretary communicates to the author the decision (positive or negative) regarding publication. If the reviewed manuscript is accompanied by comments requiring improvements, the observations of the anonymous specialists will be sent to the author in order to refine the text. The author will respond whether they wish to take these observations into account and resubmit the study for publication. The resubmitted study will be checked only by the editorial board. Altarul Reîntregirii encourages continuous and constructive dialogue between the editorial board and the authors until the study reaches a final, publishable form.
-
4
Publication in the journal
The editorial board reserves the right to decide the order in which studies are published in the journal, depending on the theme of the issue and the authors’ affiliation.
